ELIZABETH REGINE PANTALEON
Strategic communicator & Aspiring diplomat
Welcome,
Bienvenido, !أهلا وسهلا
Hi there! My name is Elizabeth Pantaleon, and I am addicted to cross-cultural interactions. Luckily, through my four years of coursework, student involvement and professional experience at the University of Florida I got my fix of cross-cultural interactions on a daily basis and had the opportunity to meet many diverse individuals from many walks of life who always managed to teach me something new.
My passion for building bridges and learning about the people who color our globe with their different identities, cultures and perspectives is what drove me to pursue dual degrees in international studies Middle East track and public relations, and join the UF International Scholars and Peace Corps Prep programs. This passion also propelled me to serve as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant '18-'19 in Ramallah and Jerusalem allowing me to challenge myself in a dynamic environment all while cultivating a deep understanding and respect for Palestinian culture and society.
I invite you to explore this visual representation of the experiences that have tailored me into the global citizen, servant leader, cultural enthusiast and citizen diplomat I am today.

WHEN, WHERE AND WHO SPARKED MY PASSION
The Governor's Institute of Vermont on Current Issues and Youth Activism
Friends, family and peers often ask why I am so passionate about the Middle East and learning Arabic as a first-generation Cuban-American who grew up in Miami with no familial ties to the region. My answer, always begins with the story of a life-changing friendship with a girl from a small village in Israel that has three names in three different languages- Oasis of Peace, Wahat al-Salam and Neve Shalom. Through dialogue and cross-cultural exchange, stereotypes were dismantled and perspectives and ambitions were changed.
